The Christmas’ where I worry about losing our football are still better than the ones wondering when the current one will get fired.

    We’re lucky to have Satterfield!

I really don't think this is going to be a problem. Vince has taken care of the rest of our coaches. He'll take care of Satterfield too.

Vince seems to be pretty brilliant when it comes to the financial side of things. Satterfield is here for a long time

According to Vince, he's met with CSS, Brown, and Ledford and discussed what the future of UofL football looks like, including the coaching staff's compensation. Plus, Vince seems like a pretty savvy and competitive guy. Good luck to any schools that come calling...i think they're going to need it.

If I’m an AD on the outside looking in and I need a coach I take a good long look. He’s off to a very promising start, and the culture, coaching and staff are top notch. But I think I would need to see how he recruits first and how he does with a couple of classes with his guys under his belt. He’s high on the list, but I need to see the recruiting before throwing the big bucks

But if I’m our AD I give him a blank check. I think we know what we have here.

Money won’t be the reason we lose this staff, if it happens. We paid Bobby and Strong very well.

If Satt ever leaves it’ll be for an elite program. And I hate to say it but days when the stadium is 60% full here sure aren’t going to help things. If fans want to keep an elite staff, then they need to do their part. It’s pretty simple how this works.

The number of better programs likely to poach him is far smaller than it use to be. You're talking a Clemson/Alabama/Notre Dame type program.

LosAngelesCard said... (original post) We can pay Top 15 salary. Brohm is Top 10 and we have much more $ than Purdue.Satt's gonna get paid.

Please. Purdue is paying Jeff 6.7 million dollars a year. Purdue gets a chunk of the Big Ten network - television revenue 54 million dollars in 2018 which was 10 million dollars more than per team SEC payout. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/2019/05/15/big-ten-revenue-hit-nearly-759-million-fiscal-2018/3686089002/

Where some of you guys get this idea that our athletic department is swimming in cash...I don't know.

Fact: Purdue ponied up the cash for Brohm because they could afford to do so. We are in absolutely NO position to pay anyone nearly 7 million dollars a year to coach football.

VT is already one of the highest paid ADs with a couple of years of experience. Not really worried about losing him

For Vince, this is a labor of love. He grew up a big fan of Louisville, Louisville is his hometown. He was a big donor before getting the AD position. Vince ain't going anywhere. Give that idea up.

He took a bunch of guys that were taught to almost hate football/ from a team decimated by the transfer portal and lethargy to become bowl eligible.

I’m with you. It’s gonna be exciting to see his own cast be brought in.

I agree, but I hope we are better off now with being in the ACC. We are not in the Big East or CUSA anymore. He seems like the type of guy who will want to build something. We are in a division with 2 teams who have won NC's in the past 5 years, so hopefully that list of elite teams is pretty short.
